Job Description

Join the Student Mental Health, Counselling, Therapies and Wellbeing Service at The University of Sheffield. Provide counselling and psychotherapy to students, manage caseloads, contribute to service planning, and engage in student support events.

Responsibilities

  • Offer counselling and psychotherapy to students
  • Plan and organize caseload
  • Contribute to trainee placement provision
  • Manage safeguarding issues
  • Maintain client records
  • Work in accordance with clinical governance
  • Assess and monitor risk
  • Engage in supervision and meetings
  • Contribute to service planning and delivery of student wellbeing events
  • Develop understanding of student support resources

Qualifications

  • Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling/Psychotherapy
  • Training in trauma informed therapy
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in time-limited therapy
  • Confidentiality management skills
  • Understanding of risk management and safeguarding
  • Knowledge of local services
  • Engagement in professional development
