Job Description

Responsible for gathering, analyzing, and interpreting market data to inform strategic sourcing decisions, identify cost-saving opportunities, and mitigate risks in the supply chain related to crop protection active ingredients.

Responsibilities

Market Analysis: Conduct thorough research on industry trends, competitor activities, and supplier capabilities related to crop protection active ingredients (AIs) globally. Data Collection: Assess global data sources for crop protection chemicals as well as related intermediates and raw materials from various sources, including industry reports, databases, and market surveys. Reporting: Develop and maintain market intelligence reports and dashboards, as well as a historical price database of relevant input materials and generic AIs. Supplier Capability: Assess and evaluate suppliers based on external market intelligence combined with internal metrics to support procurement strategies. Cost Analysis: Analyze cost structures on critical AIs in conjunction with Procurement Managers to enable cost optimization to ensure competitiveness. Risk identification: Stay abreast of market developments of competing molecules/generic entrants to provide advanced warning to the business allowing time to develop strategies. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with procurement teams and other stakeholders to ensure data supports business objectives. Networking: Establish a trusted knowledge network within the agrochemical industry specifically and the synthetic organic chemicals sector generally. Collaboration: Work with other Gowan teams in adjacent areas related to the objectives of the Procurement Group.

Qualifications

Required education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Certifications: Professional certifications in procurement or market intelligence. Training: statistical analysis methods (preferred).
