Job Description

Join Midland Metro Ltd as a Stores Person to assist the Material Manager in the effective management of spares and consumables. Enjoy the benefits of working with us and contribute to sustainable urban transportation.

Responsibilities

Providing a friendly and efficient service to customers of MML?s stores.
Acceptance of Goods including making sure deliveries conform to purchase order requirements.
Liaising with suppliers to check price / specifications and to obtain competitive quotations for existing and new materials.
Booking in of Goods.
Management of quarantine of non-confirming goods.
Use of forklift and flatbed trucks for loading / offloading goods and the relocation of site stock.
Distributing deliveries to their intended recipients across the depot.
Issuing of engineering items/equipment to staff members.
Packing and dispatching goods to be returned to suppliers.
Inspection and quarantine of goods requiring repair.
Liaising with suppliers and customs brokers to ensure materials coming in/out from or too the EU and other countries comply with current customs procedures.
General stores housekeeping.
Depot stock takes & checks.

Qualifications

Familiarity with a stores / materials management environment.
Ability to use Excel to create and manage records.
Working knowledge of database systems.
Good level and understanding of IT systems.
Excellent interpersonal skills alongside good written and verbal communication skills.
GCSE or equivalent Maths and English at Grade C or above.
Use of systems to create new component stock records and allocation of stock locations.
Use of systems to raise purchase orders.
Use of system reporting to monitor stock levels.
Data input and cross referencing of supplier drawings and part numbers to ensure stock records are accurate.
