Job Description

Join Huel as a Technical Manager to ensure product quality and safety for our food, drink, and merchandise ranges. Manage packaging schemes, regulatory compliance, and drive sustainable packaging solutions.

Responsibilities

Managing the implementation of packaging scheme & regulatory compliance in UK, EU, US & Asian markets, working closely with industry & sector bodies. Reporting monthly on compliance to internal and external stakeholders. Managing compliance to accreditation requirements including; Kosher, Halal, BRCGS, and supporting accreditation audits. Setting the packaging technical requirements & undertaking the approval of suppliers & packaging materials on a global basis. Build monthly KPIs to assess against packaging suppliers and regularly monitor and improve performance, building strong relationships with suppliers. Driving the innovation agenda for sustainable packaging with a particular emphasis on achieving low carbon, circular packaging solutions. Developing testing procedures for packaging ensuring specification & legal conformance (e.g. ISTA, drop and burst testing). Setting and monitoring adherence to quality standards. Driving efficiency, quality and suitability of packaging at our manufacturing site in Milton Keynes, working closely with the Engineering team. Managing packaging related complaints reduction. Setting initiatives for suppliers, internal and co-manufactures, working closely with site Technical Managers. Being the Huel 'go to' and business voice for packaging. Defining & developing a sustainable packaging strategy for all Huel Products in collaboration with our sustainability, development and procurement teams.

Qualifications

This role requires circa 3-5 years+ of experience in a technical manager role in a food environment. Packaging experience isn't required but food experience in a technical environment is necessary. Strong organizational, project management, and delegation skills are essential. Knowledge of legislative requirements within the UK/EU/US is a bonus.
