Job Description

The SAS Training Programme Director (TPD) is responsible for managing and overseeing the SAS educational programmes in the Region on behalf of the STC and the Associate Postgraduate Dean for SAS & LEDs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a network of SAS Tutors
  • Chair bi-annual SAS Steering Committee
  • Member of STC and SAS & LED Board
  • Develop Regional educational training programmes
  • Manage SAS doctors funding for individual development
  • Support the Associate Dean for SAS/LEDs in reviewing innovation and quality improvement project funding
  • Organize SAS Doctor's Development Programme
  • Promote educational activities using NHSE EoE Blended Learning Platforms
  • Present findings of Annual SAS Survey to STC
  • Organize wellbeing activities for SAS doctors
  • Support SAS doctors with career, training, or developmental needs
  • Provide advice to the Postgraduate Dean/Senior Leadership Team
  • Ensure there is a programme of SAS Tutor Regional Training Days
  • Other roles as necessary

Qualifications

  • Medical degree
  • Experience in medical education and training programmes
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Knowledge of NHS policies and procedures
