The Youth Development Worker will mentor and support young people at risk of school exclusion, mental health issues, or serious youth violence through various activities and programs.
1. Engage young people in mentoring process and promote safe choices
2. Support young people to remain in education with improved attendance and behavior
3. Develop workshops and activities to engage young people and empower them to become service deliverers
4. Establish positive reputation with young people, parents, schools, and community
5. Provide information, advice, and guidance to young people
6. Engage parents, schools, and professionals for support
7. Ensure all young people attend mentoring sessions
8. Collect and maintain paperwork and evidence in line with requirements
9. Encourage schools to access additional LifeLine services
10. Uphold LifeLine's standards and values in all activities
11. Assist other staff with program delivery as needed
Preferred:
- Experience working with at-risk young people
- Ability to use database packages
- Interest in teaching and learning issues
- Understanding of CAMHS
- Degree in Youth Work or equivalent
Essential:
- Minimum 2 years working with challenging young people
- Experience in safeguarding, detached youth work, and delivering positive activities
- Minimum Level 3 youth work qualification
- Level 2 in English & Maths
