Job Description

Join our team as a Senior Events Programme Officer to lead and manage a diverse range of events across the Borough, showcasing Sandwell as a vibrant place for community celebrations and civic events.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the development, coordination, and delivery of a borough-wide events programme aligned with strategic priorities.
Champion Sandwell through inclusive and high-quality events that reflect the borough's diversity.
Collaborate with elected members to deliver key civic events such as Remembrance Day parades and Armed Forces Day.
Manage event governance, health and safety, risk assessments, and compliance.
Manage event budgets, explore funding opportunities, and work with community groups and partners to create sustainable events.
Provide guidance to external event organisers, particularly those holding events on council land.

Qualifications

Minimum of two years proven experience in planning and delivering community events.
Experience in budget management, financial planning, and project/programme management.
Strong understanding of Health and Safety Legislation.
Experience in managing diverse creative projects.
