Job Description

Join our team as a Class 2 Tipper Driver responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while adhering to all road safety regulations. This role requires effective communication skills and the ability to operate various types of vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Drive lorries and vans to deliver goods to designated locations in a timely manner.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
  • Load and unload cargo, ensuring that items are secured properly for transport.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that occur during transit.
  • Demonstrate mechanical knowledge by performing basic maintenance on the vehicle as needed.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.

Qualifications

  • Valid commercial driving licence with appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle operated.
  • Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a warehouse environment is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively.
  • Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • A commitment to safety and attention to detail in all aspects of driving and delivery operations.
